# Apr 20, 2026: Fine-tuning `arctic-extract` models (*General availability*)

Fine-tuning `arctic-extract` models is now generally available. You can adapt the model to your documents and domains for more consistent structured extraction, and run inference with AI_EXTRACT using your fine-tuned model.

This release also includes the following updates:

- You can pass the `options` parameter when you create a fine-tuning job, including the `max_epochs` option to control how many epochs the job runs.
- Document files referenced in your training Dataset can use internal stages or external stages.
