Column.substr(start_pos: Union[Column, int], length: Union[Column, int]) → Column[source]¶

Returns a substring of this string column.

Parameters:

  • start_pos – The starting position of the substring. Please note that the first character has position 1 instead of 0 in Snowflake database.

  • length – The length of the substring.

substring() is an alias of substr().
