Restricted Session Scope for agents (General availability)
With this release, Restricted Session Scope (RSS) is generally available. An RSS is a privilege ceiling that limits what an agent can do on behalf of a user. It intersects with RBAC and never grants privileges the user doesn't already have through their roles.

Data lineage for Cortex Agents
You can now use data lineage to see which data a Cortex Agent can reach through the tools declared in its specification. A semantic view that a Cortex Analyst tool references, and a Cortex Search service that a Cortex Search tool references, both appear upstream of the agent. Because a semantic view is itself downstream of the tables it references, you can trace the whole path from a table, through the semantic view, to the agent that consumes it.

CoCo Desktop v1.21.2
CoCo Desktop v1.21.2 adds new ways to visualize query results and create automations, and fixes reliability problems in long-running sessions and at startup on managed machines:
- Four new chart types:
tableanddata_framefor tabular output,horizontal_bar_chartfor ranked lists and long category names, andvega_lite_specfor charts the built-in types don't cover, such as heatmaps, box plots, and layered or faceted charts. - Choose local or cloud when creating an automation: + New asks which kind of automation you want instead of following the active tab, and cloud automation titles are validated as you type.
- Redesigned restricted session scope dialog: Read-only and named scopes share one selection flow that matches Snowsight, with role search matches highlighted and cancellable creation.

Snowflake Data Clean Rooms updates
The following updates are now available in Snowflake Data Clean Rooms:
- ML Jobs
image_tagdefault now resolves to the latest available runtime version: When you register a code spec without an explicitimage_tag, the collaboration resolves to the latest available runtime image when the code spec is added to a collaboration. Previously the default was the static2.8.1tag. To pick up a newer default image on an existing code spec, re-add the code spec to the collaboration. To pin a specific version, setimage_tagexplicitly. For details, see the ML Jobs code spec field reference. - Corrected update request status for requestors: In
VIEW_UPDATE_REQUESTS, a requestor's own entry now correctly shows theREQUESTEDstatus until the request is processed, instead of prematurely showingAPPROVED. - General performance improvements and bug fixes.

Cortex Extension references in agent skills (General availability)
Referencing a Cortex Extension from an agent skill is now generally available. Set the skill source type to CORTEX_EXTENSION and path to the extension's fully qualified name, and Snowflake expands the reference into the extension's member skills at request time, so you don't list each skill individually. Updates to the extension flow to every agent that references it, and access is controlled by the READ privilege on the extension object.

Cortex Agents Coding Agent (General availability)
The Cortex Agents Coding Agent is now generally available. Add the code_toolset_all tool type to a Cortex Agent, and Snowflake provisions and manages a sandbox backed by the same runtime that powers Snowflake CoCo: bash, file read/write/edit, grep, glob, web search, SQL execution, and skills. Snowflake executes the tools and streams results back to your application, so you don't build or host an agent loop yourself.

Version targeting for Cortex Agent and Cortex Analyst evaluations (General availability)
Cortex Agent and Cortex Analyst evaluations now let you control the versioned configuration used for scoring:
- Cortex Agent version targeting – The new
agent_versionkey in the evaluation YAMLagent_paramsblock runs an evaluation against a specific agent version, alias, or shortcut, so a scheduled or CI/CD evaluation stays reproducible instead of tracking a mutable live version. You can also pick the version from a dropdown in Snowsight or through Cortex Code. - System metric versions – All five system metrics accept a
versionkey:answer_correctness,logical_consistency,tool_selection_accuracy, andtool_execution_accuracyfor Cortex Agent evaluations, andsql_correctnessfor Cortex Analyst evaluations. A version pins the judge model along with the prompt, rubric, and thresholds behind a score. Versionsv2andv3add GPT judges for accounts that don't allow Anthropic models, andv3uses a 1M-token (claude-sonnet-4-6) or 1.05M-token (openai-gpt-5.4) context window, which reduces the odds of context window overload on long traces. Unversioned metrics usev1today and roll forward when that version is deprecated. - Cortex Agent custom metric judge models – Custom metric definitions accept a
modelkey that names the LLM judge for that metric. If you omitmodel, Snowflake usesclaude-4-sonnettoday and rolls forward when that model is deprecated.

Snowflake Data Clean Rooms updates
The following updates are now available in Snowflake Data Clean Rooms:
- External and Apache Iceberg™ tables in cross-region collaborations: Collaborators can now share data offerings that reference external or Iceberg tables with parties in the same region as the collaboration owner, even when the collaboration itself is leveraging Cross-Cloud Auto-Fulfillment. These offerings can't be shared with collaborators in other clouds or regions, because replication isn't supported for these object types in Data Clean Rooms.
- Preset tables in clean room templates (public preview): A template author can now preset a specific provider dataset in a template with a
preset_tablesblock. The template logic can use this dataset and the analysis runner doesn't need to supply it at run time. Learn more. - Legacy identity connectors removed from the web application: As part of the ongoing deprecation of the legacy Data Clean Rooms web application, the LiveRamp, Acxiom, Merkury, and PAIR third-party identity connectors have been removed. TransUnion remains available. Available identity connectors are listed in the connectors documentation.

You can now use the Horizon Iceberg REST Catalog (IRC) API to access externally managed Apache Iceberg™ tables in a catalog-linked database from external engines such as Apache Spark™, Trino, DuckDB, or PyIceberg. This extends existing Horizon IRC support for Snowflake-managed Iceberg tables so you can use a single catalog endpoint for both Snowflake-managed and externally managed tables, with Snowflake RBAC enforced consistently.

CoCo Desktop v1.21.0
CoCo Desktop v1.21.0 adds enterprise device-management enforcement on macOS, more in-app file previews in agent mode, and fixes a sign-in loop that could open browser tabs indefinitely:
- Enterprise device-management enforcement (macOS): On managed macOS devices, CoCo Desktop enforces your organization's MDM policy at the app-version, connect, and inference gates, including the per-account allowed authentication methods. Unmanaged devices are unaffected.
- More file previews in agent mode: Preview
.pdf,.csv,.pptx,.docx,.html, and.ipynbfiles directly in the app while working with the agent. - Fixed: repeated SSO sign-in tabs: With external-browser or OAuth authorization-code sign-in, leaving CoCo Desktop open no longer opens browser sign-in tabs indefinitely.

Trust Center violation findings remediation (General availability)
The following Trust Center findings remediation capabilities are now generally available:
- One-click remediation: for supported CIS Benchmarks violation findings, the Trust Center generates the SQL statements that remediate the violation findings, shows you the plan, and runs it after you approve it.
