Calling an External Function for GCP

In this Topic:

Call the External Function

Call an external function the same way that you call any function. For example, execute a SQL command similar to the following:

select my_external_function(42, 'Life, the Universe, and Everything');

(Replace the function name my_external_function with the actual name of your external function.)

If you have just created a sample external function by following the tutorial to create an external function on GCP, then call the function using the external function name that you recorded in the “External Function Name” field of the worksheet. The returned value should be similar to:

[42, "Life, the Universe, and Everything"]
