Snowsight - Databases: View Details

When you select a view in the database object explorer, the view details page appears.

This page includes an overview of how to navigate and use the view details page.



Basic view details

Basic details about your view are located at the top of the page.

View details tabs

The view details page includes the following tabs:

  • View Details

  • Columns

  • Data Preview

More menu

The More menu, located in the upper-right corner of the page, lets you do the following:

  • Edit

    Edit the view name and comment.

  • Drop

    Drop the view.

  • Transfer Ownership

    Transfer ownership of the view to another role.

View Details tab

The View Details tab includes the following sections:

  • View definition

  • Privileges

The View definition section contains the SQL used to initialize the view.

Use the Privileges section to view, grant, and revoke privileges on the view.

Columns tab

The Columns tab provides a table of columns in the view.

In the upper-right corner of the table, use the Search box to find columns by name.

Data Preview tab

The Data Preview tab provides a preview of up to the first 100 rows of the view.

Hover over the column headings to:

  • Sort the data in ascending or descending order.

  • Increase or decrease the decimal precision.

  • Show thousands separators in numbers.

  • Display the data in the column as percentages.

The options available to you depend on the type of data in the column.

The preview requires a warehouse. Snowsight uses the default warehouse for your user profile. In the upper-left corner of preview, select an alternative warehouse to preview its contents.
