H3 Functions for GEOGRAPHY Objects — General Availability¶

H3 functions for GEOGRAPHY objects are now generally available. H3 is a hierarchical geospatial index that partitions the world into hexagonal cells in a discrete global grid system. Snowflake provides the SQL functions that enable you to use H3 with geospatial data that are either stored in a GEOGRAPHY object or as discrete latitude and longitude columns.
